It is widely accepted that Plato, the Athenian philosopher, was born in 428-7 B.C.E and died at the age of eighty or eighty-one at 348-7 B.C.E.

Plato devoted his life to one goal: helping people to reach a state of what he termed Eudaimonia or fulfilment.

The philosopher wrote lots of books.

Good motivational thoughts

Plato had four big ideas for making life more fulfilled.

First big idea: THINK MORE.

We rarely give ourselves time to think scrupulously about our lives and how to live.
Second big idea: Let your lover change you.
In other words, the person you need to get together with should have very good qualities which you yourself lack. The right person for us helps us grow to our full potential.

Third big idea: Decode the Message of Beauty

Fourth big idea: Reform Society.
Plato founded a school of learning, known as the Academy, which he presided over until his death. It is believed the school was located at an enclosed park named for a legendary Athenian hero. The Academy operated until 529 C.E.., when it was closed by Roman Emperor Justinian I, who feared it was a source of paganism and a threat to Christianity.
His works are in the form of dialogues, where several characters argue a topic by asking questions of each other. This form allows Plato to raise various points of view and let the reader decide which is valid.
The Dialogues of Plato universally concern themselves with the quest for Truth and the understanding of what is Good. Plato contended that there was one universal truth which a human being needed to recognize and strive to live in accordance with.
